Have New Year Resolutions not worked for you in the past? I know I have failed many times with mine. The solution for some people is to just stop setting them. That is a great idea, but then what are you doing to set goals and grow in the areas that need growth? You probably aren’t. If you are, that’s awesome! Tell me how you go about that! My 2018 Resolutions

I am Loved

Re-establish relationship with God – I have the plan to do do Bible studies again. I love

diving into the Word, but I love it more when I have a guide. It helps me focus on what is important and apply what I can into my life. I utilize Proverbs 31 Ministries Online Bible Studies which you can find at Proverbs31.org. I also started a Bible reading plan for the whole year. You can find reading plans on my favorite website bible.com

Vegan 5/7 days in the week – I have been trying to go vegan for the past year because I believe it is right for me personally. I firmly believe it is how God meant us to eat before the fall of man when Eve and Adam sinned for the first time. Prior to the fall, we find in Genesis that God gave us plants: “And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds in the sky and all the creatures that move along the ground—everything that has the breath of life in it—I give every green plant for food.” And it was so.” Genesis 1:30 God did give the OK to consume animals for food, but for me, I would rather live in a way that I am not participating in the harm of His creation of animals. To do this, I have decided on two options for each meal, and I will stick with those until I feel comfortable to expand from that without falling off the wagon

Miracle Morning every day – The Miracle Morning has been around before Hal Elrod technically, but Hal created a routine for himself and shared with the world in his book. When I have actually done this routine, my day has been more productive. I’m going to use the 5 second rule to attain this routine. I will wake with my alarm and decide in 5 seconds that I will get up and stay up.

Post in blog 3 days a week – I have the month of January all planned y’all. I plans for Mondays, Thursdays, and series Saturdays. I will refuse to fall into the Netflix trap until my posts for the week are written on Sundays. I also have a list of 100 post ideas I would like to write for you this year.

Work out at the gym 3 days a week and at home the other 4 – I have a gym membership again. My boyfriend will be working on Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays (he is working part time as he goes back to school). I will go to the gym on those days. I will incorporate my 4 at home workouts into my Miracle Morning as exercise is one of the habits of that hour.

Save money – I have automatic transfers set up for the Monday after each paycheck into my savings account. I also am participating in the $5 challenge. This means every time I have a $5 bill in my wallet, instead of spending it, I will save it.

Highlight jar – I did this in the past and loved it at the end of the year. As the year progresses, I will fill up a designated jar of pieces of paper with highlights that happened in my life. So at the end of each day, I will note if anything significantly good happened and I will put it in the jar,.

Gratitude List – Especially when life seems icky, recognizing what you are grateful for is important. When I journal, I will take the time to write out 3 things I have gratitude for.

Read 1 book a month – Also part of the Miracle Morning is reading. I won’t read just then, I also want to read on my breaks at work and at night. At the beginning of the month when I choose a book, I will figure out how many pages a day I would need to read in order to finish it by the end of the month.

Journal – Journaling is also part of the Miracle Morning, but I also want to do this at the end of the day about what happened that day. I want to complain less, and journaling will help me get my complaints out and keep them out of the lives of those around me.

The Resolution for Women

fullsizeoutput_491A few years ago, there was a movie called “Courageous.” It was about a group of men at a church that wanted to become the best husbands and fathers they could be. After that movie was released, Priscilla Shirer decided that she wanted to create the same kind of life resolution for women so they had a resource on how to be the best wife and mother for their families as well. It goes in depth into where you can find how to live as a Christian wife in the Bible. I started to read this but never finished. No, I am not married, but what does it hurt for a woman to read this prior to getting married so they can start their marriage off on the right foot. I also like to treat my relationship like a marriage since we’ve been together for 6 years. This man still deserves the same respect and honor a husband deserves. This book is about 268 pages which means with reading 8-9 pages a day will have you finish this book in the month of January! So simple! So attainable!

Now, I know I have readers that are men. There’s a resource for you as well! Stephen Kendrick, one of the producers and actors of the movie “Courageous” wrote a similar book. I cannot say what it all entails, but I am sure it is quite similar.

      • I went on a blog Sabbath for several months (felt longer but SO worth it), and just felt led by the Lord. I started figuring out I reacted to this and that health wise, watched ‘Forks Over Knives’, and just been living (eating?) by faith that this is the right thing. I was actually thinking about that very verse this morning – it came up in my new reading plan. It’s a day by day, meal by meal, choice to eat this way and let the Lord lead me in the process. Of getting off allergen foods (nuts, potato, soy, etc) and staying solely plant based.
